Troubleshooting

If something goes wrong after installing, it almost always falls under one of these headings. Check the server console and the in-game F8 console first — the error message usually points to the fix.

The script doesn't start

If the console says Couldn't find resource nova_hud:

  • Make sure the folder hasn't been renamed.
  • Check that the folder sits directly under resources or inside a bracketed category folder.
  • Double-check the spelling of the ensure line in server.cfg.

"lib" or "MySQL" is nil

attempt to index a nil value (global 'lib') means ox_lib starts after the Nova script. Fix the order in server.cfg:

ensure oxmysql
ensure ox_lib
ensure [nova]

Framework not detected

If auto-detection fails, pick the framework by hand:

Note

Make sure the framework core (es_extended, qb-core or qbx_core) starts before any Nova script.

The interface doesn't open or looks empty

  • Look for NUI errors in the F8 console.
  • Clear the FiveM cache: delete everything except nui-storage in %localappdata%/FiveM/FiveM.app/data/cache.
  • Check whether another script is bound to the same key.

When opening a support ticket

Include these in your Discord ticket and we can help much faster:

  1. Script name and version (e.g. nova_hud v2.4.1)
  2. Framework and version
  3. Server artifact number
  4. The full error from the server console and the F8 console
